The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Local Conservation Fund provides funding to conservation projects located within Electoral Area A. The Fund is a local government service that is enabled through taxation by the RDCK.
Kootenay Conservation Program (KCP) in partnership with the RDCK provide funding for projects that benefit conservation in the rural areas around Kootenay Lake (specifically RDCK Electoral Areas A, D, E and F) and the Slocan Valley (Electoral Area H) through the RDCK Local Conservation Fund (Click here for map). The purpose of the RDCK Local Conservation Fund is to provide local financial support for important projects that will contribute to the conservation of our valuable natural areas; one step towards restoring and preserving a healthy environment. The intent is to provide funding for conservation projects that are not the existing responsibility of the federal, provincial or local governments.
